What Influences the Translation Cost?
As a matter of fact, the final cost depends on several factors:
Deadline: The shorter the turnaround time is, the higher the fee. Because we’ll have to engage more translators for your project. If your video duration is more than 60 minutes, it might take us longer accordingly. For faster translations, an additional surcharge equal to 20% of the total project price will be applied.
Recording quality: Difficult audio sections with background noise or voices overlapping, whisper or strong accents etc. make the task more complicated. As a result, this clearly has a knock-on effect on the final price.
Audio length: We love large orders and are so glad to offer volume discounts: 5% off for recordings longer than 1 hour, 10% off for those with 2 hours+ duration.
Number of speakers: It takes time and effort to differentiate between some voices and identify the speakers. Especially, if they sound simultaneously. Accordingly, multiple speakers and their labels add to the value.
Timestamps: Do you need them? If so, we use a 5-minute timestamping as a standard. However, we are happy to adjust to your requirements. But that slightly increases the rate per minute if more frequent timestamps are required.
Source text: If an accompanying transcript in the source language is also needed, that influences the price, of course.
Target language: The final cost may vary depending on the language pair. The rarer is the pair language the higher is the fee. Please request your quotation for free.
Subject area: The rate depends greatly on the audio topic. Consequently, if we need to engage a translator who is also a professional in some specific field, that will involve additional expenses.
